JBLS is a full service land company under the direction of experienced leadership, specializing in right-of-way acquisition, oil and gas leasing, title research, title opinion abstracts, due diligence, field assistance, and other activities related to the oil and gas business. We have extensive experience in all phases of title, working with mineral/land owners, negotiating and structuring leases and/or right-of-way contracts, lease administration, payment of drafts and year end reporting of 1099's.

In 1994, Jim Bourbeau established Jim Bourbeau Land Service, Inc. in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Starting with just two people in the office, and a business model that insured low-cost, accuracy, and dependability, Jim Bourbeau Land Service, Inc. established a way of doing business that we continue to utilize. Today we offer a full range of contract land professionals to satisfy oil and gas exploration companies, while utilizing only the most qualified, highly motivated, and energetic workforce. James R. Bourbeau, CPL (President and Owner) has been actively involved in the land business since 1978. He has worked oil and gas basins throughout the continental United States encompassing 12 years of experience in the Rocky Mountain Region and 22 years of experience in the Appalachian Region. His accolades include Vice President of the Chippewa Minerals Associates, Inc. in Denver, Colorado, current National Director with the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), former Chairman of the Legislative/Regulatory Committee, as well as past President and Treasurer of the Northern Appalachia Landman’s Association (NALA). Jim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Central Michigan University, a Master’s of Science Degree from Eastern Michigan University, and an additional 20 hours towards a second Master’s Degree in Administration. He is currently an active member of NALA, MAPL, and the Michael Late Benedum Chapter (MLBC).
